Bylaws



ARTICLE I - NAME
The name of this organization shall be the Austin Texas Lithic Arts and Technology
League (ATLATL), also referred to as the League, the Club, the Society, the Atlatl
Team, the Austin Atlatl Team, the Austin Atlatl Association, AA, the Austin team,
and the A-Team.
ARTICLE II- PURPOSE
Section 1. The purpose of the Austin Texas Lithic Arts and Technology League
shall be to study ancient technologies (including the atlatl weapon system) and this
includes some hunting. The League is organized primarily for educational and
scientific purposes.
ARTICLE IV - PUBLICATIONS
Section 1. The League shall maintain a comprehensive web site.
ARTICLE V - MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Membership in the League shall be by invitation only.
Section 2. All members may participate as Committee members
with full rights.
Section 3. Any member may act as a representative for the League.
ARTICLE VI – OFFICERS
1. Each officer should designate a successor before leaving office.
2. In the event that an officer has not named an adequate successor,
then the Chief Executive Officer will designate someone to the position.
3. If Chief Executive Officer position is vacant and there is no successor planned
the Chief Operating Officer shall serve as Chief Executive Officer indefinitely.
4. Officers are appointed indefinitely.

- Project Managers: Assigned as needed.
ARTICLE VII – COMMITTEES
Section 1: The Executive Committee includes all members present at a scheduled
meeting.
Section 2: The ABNORMAL Committee is politically active, opposing anti-atlatl
legislation.
Section 3: The Bodark Branch of the ATLATL is the sports and recreation
division. Membership and participation is open to anyone with an atlatl.
ARTICLE VIII - MEETINGS
Section 1. The League shall hold a meeting every Thursday after work at Shoal
Creek.
Section 2. The League shall host accuracy contests with the atlatl on a regular
basis, using WAA guidelines.
ARTICLE IX - LIABILITIES
Section 1. All members must adhere to the club code of conduct.
Section 2. Members must adhere to the American Anthropological
Association code of ethics.
Section 3. Members of this League are not liable for the League's
debts and obligations.
ARTICLE X - FINANCES
Section 1. Any income shall constitute a working fund, available for operating
expenses.
ARTICLE XI - DISPOSAL OF THE ASSETS
Section 1. In the event of dissolution of the League, whether voluntary or
involuntary, the assets shall be donated to the American Red Cross and Goodwill.
ARTICLE XII - AMENDMENTS
Section 1. Any member may propose that the Bylaws be amended, repealed, or
altered in whole or in part.
Section 2. The Committee may adopt additional standing rules and procedures.
